Dear Bill,
Thank you the exciting stories about THE BASS HOLE. I have a small camp 1.5 miles south of Key Harbour. I like to fish mainly in Henvey Inlet. I’ve been to the Dallas a couple times as well as sand bay. The funny thing is, in all my years in this area, I’ve never caught a largemouth. I’m very discreet about my fishing spots as you are. However, would you be kind enough to reveal the location of the bass hole to me?
I would love to take my young nephew for a largemouth fishing trip.
Hi Bill,
It’s a small world. I just read some more of your website.
We have a few things in common.
My uncle, the late Felix “Jonesy” Petrowski spent a career in the U.S. Navy as a submariner. His last posting was in South Carolina.
I once rode a freight train back from that southern area to the Washington, D.C., area.
And I like fishing.
My other website is http://www.georgesgeorgianbay.com.
Today, (November 17, 2008) we are getting a lot of snow and the temperature is around minus one Celcius. I can see Georgian Bay from my window.
Nobody’s trolling today.
Cheers,
George Czerny in Craigleith, Ontario.
February 14, 2009. My husband brought home some maps of the Georgian Bay- Manitoulin Island, my step-mom had kept, until now. My Dad had to show where our cabin used to be on the voyageur channel and our current cottage on Drummond Island. Bill please email me so I may ask some questions about the area?
Thank You for the stories and info.
Thanks,

Hello Mr. Dice,
It seems we share a love and passion for the outdoors especially fishing. I typically go to the Queitico to canoe/camp primarily to fish. Trips are usually a week but sometimes can last longer. I am from the Detroit area and this is a day and 1/2 drive for me so we are exploring other options. I have read much of your postings and you seem to be a man in the know. We are planning a mid-sept venture and are unsure of how to plan and where to fish. For example what river should we venture down to Georgian bay? Are the fish near the bay or should I concentrate up river? Should I employ a water taxi service? I know you have spent many years “paying your dues” but I also sense you a good hearted fellow. Any suggestions, from a subtle hint as to how we should be thinking, to planning our trip out for us will certainly be appreciated.
Thanks, Al Gibson
I’ve enjoyed the Key, French, Pickerel, and Bad River areas since I was a kid ie. Dore Camp, Diamond Key, relatives and friends cottage. Had some experience with the bears and snakes. Caught some big pike, bass, and walleye. Now retired I’m interested to locate someone with a small rustic, nothing fancy, cabin and 14 – 16 ft boat on the Key or even the Bay they’d like to rent for reasonable rate for the entire month of September each year. Any suggestions ?
